Devil's Advocate

This page will feature a more formal version of the debate options.  Each commenter will have a chance to write an opening statement, a rebuttal, and a closing argument for their side. On the occasions when I cannot get someone to represent an opposing viewpoint, I will play the "devil's advocate" and argue the other side. The goal is to have a robust but civil conversation where at the very least we learn a little something new from an opponent's perspective. No name-calling will be tolerated, but passion is highly
